Fans Are Finally Getting An Anime Adaptation of a Junji Ito Manga

Horror manga fans should squeeze onto their hats… and chairs… and whatever else they like to squeeze when something exciting happens!

According to Junji Ito’s Haunted House site, one of Junji Ito’s manga series is going to be turned into an anime. Unfortunately, as is usually the case with big announcements like this, we have nothing to report besides that fact as the website declined to tell the world which series of his would be adapted into an anime, what format it would be in, and who would be involved in its creation.

Could it be the killer fish story, Gyo? Or the story about spirals, Uzumaki? Maybe it could be the homicidal story, Tomie? Your guess is as good as ours.

If you’re unfamiliar with Junji Ito and you enjoy horror stories, you should absolutely take the time to seek out the localized versions that have been put out by Viz Media over the last couple of years. While Ito’s style might not be right for everyone, they are certainly worth seeking out if you’re looking for something that is unlike anything else out there on the market.

As always, stay tuned to this website for all the details as they are revealed over the coming weeks and months.
