It looks like a few familiar faces will send off this fan-favorite.

Yesterday, Girls und Panzer fans flocked to the latest in the “Girls und Panzer der Film Cinematic Concerts” series. At the event, the Girls und Panzer das Finale staff unveiled the theme song artists for the upcoming series.

Two songs will be used for the project:

  • Episodes 1-3: Grand Symphony by Sayaka Sasaki
  • Episodes 4-6: Unnamed song by ChouCho

Sayaka Sasaki appeared at the concert as a “Secret Guest”, where she performed an orchestral version of Grand Symphony. She previously performed the Anglerfish Dance song from the original Girls und Panzer anime series.

The first episode of Girls und Panzer das Finale will make its theatrical début on December 9. Fifty-nine theaters will carry the episode in its run. Two-episode MX4D and 4DX “immersive” screenings will kick off after the second episode’s theatrical run.

>Girls und Panzer is an original project from studio Actas. The original anime series, which aired in the Fall 2012 broadcst season, was helmed by Tsutomu Mizushima (Blood-C, Shirobako). Isao Sugimoto (Bakuon!!, Ultimate Otaku Teacher) provided character designs for the project, while Reiko Yoshida (Bakuman, D.Gray-man) took charge of series composition.

Three manga spinoffs, as well as a sequel movie and OVA were produced since the show’s début. The film, Girls und Panzer der Film, grossed 2.3 billion yen ($22,550,456.65 USD) during its 40-week theatrical run.

Sentai Filmworks holds the North American rights to Girls und Panzer. They describe the series as:

She’s in for a rude awakening, however, when the student council president demands her participation in the sport. Together with four friends, she learns to face her fears, find herself, and have a whole lot of fun along the way. Get ready for tank fighting mayhem in Girls Und Panzer!
