A few dimension-crossing idols are making their début!

Yesterday, the official Dream Festival! website updated with new details on the upcoming second season of the project’s anime adaptation. Five cast members, as well as a key visual were officially unveiled for the show, titled Dream Festival! R.


The new cast members will appear in two new idol units: “senpai” idol group ACE, and “Sankishi”.

The breakdown is as follows:


  • Asuma Ogasawara: Tatsuhisa Suzuki
  • Chikage Saotome: Atsushi Abe
  • Eiji Katsuragi: Junji Majima

Dear Dream

  • Makoto Susa: Fumihiko Tachiki
  • Ichika Saotome: Hikaru Midorikawa

Dream Festival! R will première on August 23, at 9:00PM. The Animate Channel will distribute the title digitally in Japan. A TV broadcast will kick off in October.

Dream Festival! adapts Bandai Namco’s all-male “2.5D Idol project.” The project underwent a slight branding change with the new reveal, and now refers to itself as a “5D Idol Support Project” (2D idols + 3D cast = 5 Dimensions).

Yūta Murano (Brave Beats) is returning to the director’s chair at Bandai Namco Pictures, with Yayoi Yoshikawa providing character designs. Yoichi Kato (Aikatsu!, Yo-kai Watch) will return to tackle series composition.

The team of Ken Ito and Ryo Takahashi will score the show’s soundtrack.

Crunchyroll streamed the original Dream Festival! anime as part of their Fall 2016 simulcast lineup. The describe the show as:
