First “Märchen Mädchen” Anime Trailer Hits the Web

It’s time to get a glimpse at this adaptation of Tomohiro Matsu’s final epic.

Earlier today, the official Märchen Mädchen anime website updated with a new promotional video. The 100-second trailer features image song Dare mo Watashi o Shiranai Sekai e ( To the World Where Nobody Knows Me) by by Rena Uenada as a background track.

Märchen Mädchen will air in 2018.

Hisashi Saito (The Testament of Sister New Devil, Heaven’s Lost Property) is serving as Chief Director on the project, while Shigeru Ueda (Elemental Gelade, RIN – Daughters of Mnemosyne) takes the director’s chair at Hoods Entertainment. Yuki Morikawa is providing character designs for the title, while late creator Tomohiro Matsu (Mayoi Neko Overrun!, Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin) is credited with series composition.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Yumilia Qazan: Lynn
  • Shizuka Tsuchimikado: Rie Suegara
  • Hazuki Kagimura: Tomori Kusunoki

Märchen Mädchen is based on a title that Matsu wrote over the course of three years before he passed away. The first novel, which is still attributed to him, hit stores on February 24.

Two other novels by Matsu, Mayoi Neko Overrun! and Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! both received anime adaptations. He also co-wrote the story concepts for Ixion Saga DT and handled series composition on Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin.

Sadly, Matsu passed away last spring.
