Godzilla: Monster Planet Gets First Extended Trailer


It’s time to take a new look at the King of the Monsters, himself.

Earlier today, the official Godzilla anime movie trilogy’s website updated with two new trailers and a visual. We break the details down below:

Extended Trailer

The minute-long trailer gives a new look at Godzilla: Monster Planet in action. Mamoru Miyano serves as narrator for the promo. The end of the teaser features a new look at Godzilla’s new head design.

Short Trailer

The 30-second promo focuses more on the film’s action elements, cutting between high-octane scenes before zooming on the King of the Monster’s head.

Poster Visual

The new visual features the major cast members standing ready for battle. Godzilla looms in the background, facing away from the camera.

Godzilla: Monster Planet, will hit Japanese theaters on November 17. The feature will stream later this year on Netflix as a Netflix Original project.

The Godzilla films was also presented as a feature in this year’s Annecy International Film Festival’s “Work in Progress” program.

The film will be directed by Kobun Shizuno (Knights of Sidonia) and Hiroyuki Seshita (Blame!) at Polygon Pictures. Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass) is writing the script.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Yuko Tani: Kana Hanazawa
  • Haruo Sakaki: Mamoru Miyano
  • Mulu-Elu Galu-gu: Junichi Suwabe
  • Metphies: Takahiro Sakurai
  • Martin Lazzari: Tomokazu Sugita
  • Adam Bindewald: Yuuki Kaji
