Now, we have our tunes. It’s time to get ready for the premiere!

The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump features a one-page spread that reveals theme song artists for the third season of Food Wars! The opening theme song will be handled by singer-songwriter Zaq, while rock duo nano.RIPE performs the closing theme song.

nano.RIPE previously performed the closing theme song for Food Wars! The Second Plate.

The third season of Food Wars!, subtitled San no Sara (The Third Plate) will hit Japanese TV this October. The confirmed voice cast for the new season includes:

  • Sōma Yukihira: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
  • Eishi Tsukasa: Akira Ishida
  • Rindō Kobayashi: Shizuka Ito
  • Momo Akanegakubo: Rie Kugimiya
  • Terunori Kuga: Yuuki Kaji
  • Nene Kinokuni: Kana Hanazawa
  • Erina Nakiri: Hisako Kanemoto

The Food Wars! anime adapts Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki’s manga of the same name. The series kicked off in April 2015, and ran for 24 episodes. Yoshitomo Yonetani (Nurse Witch Komugi, Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising-) directed the series at J.C. Staff, while Tomoyuki Shitaya (Bakuman, Kiss×sis) provided character designs. Scripts were provided by Shinichi Inotsume and Shogo Yasukawa.

Two seasons were produced to date. The first season, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, aired in the Spring and Summer broadcast seasons last year. The season spanned 24 episodes. The second season, Food Wars! The Second Plate, aired in the Summer 2016 season, and spanned 13 episodes.

Sentai Filmworks currently holds the rights to the series, which they describe as:

Shokugeki no Soma centers on Yukihira Soma, a middle school student who is determined to surpass his father’s culinary skills. One day, his father decides to close down their family restaurant and hone his skills in Europe. Before leaving he enrolls Soma in an elite culinary school that is extremely difficult to enter with a graduation rate of only 10 percent. Will Souma be able to improve his skills, or will the kitchen prove to be too hot? less

Sentai will release the first season of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma on Blu-Ray and DVD on August 15th. The company will also ship a limited edition, which includes an art book, art cards, chopsticks, an apron, and metal pins.

RI Anime Con 2024: Several Steps In The Right Direction

"The event is still feeling some growing pains. The decision to hold RI Anime Con on the same weekend as RI Pride and Fan Expo Boston undoubtedly hurt attendance, as they found themselves competing for attention with the largest Pride event in New England, as well as an established geek-centric convention by a more experienced organization.
