Funimation Shows Off “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans” Season 1 LE (Plus the Gunpla)

Rest assured, Funimation’s going all-out with a real, honest-to-goodness Gunpla in this set.

Alternate take: In another reality, Keroro is in a state of euphoria.

Earlier today, Funimation released the first details on their upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Season 1 Limited Edition. The show shows off the full packaging shot, as well as the Gundam model (Gunpla) that’s being bundled in the set.

The set itself includes a chipboard box and an artbook. The Gunpla will be the HG 1/144 Gundam Barbatos + Smoothbore Gun, with an exclusive Metallic Gloss Injection. The set will carry a suggested retail price of $149.98 when it hits retailers on November 14.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans is an original series by Sunrise. The title, which began airing on October 4, 2015, was directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai (anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, A Certain Scientific Railgun) at Sunrise. Michinori Chiba (Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Someday’s Dreamers) provided character designs on the project, while Mari Okada (Black Butler, Selector Infected Wixoss) tackled series composition.
Sunrise describes the show as:

The Earth Sphere had lost its previous governing structure, and a new world was created under new systems of government. While a temporary peace had arrived, the seeds of a new conflict were being sown in the Mars Sphere, far away from Earth.

The title’s second season will hit Japanese TV in 2018.
