Sentai Filmworks Launches GoFundMe Campaign For Staffers Affected by Hurricane Harvey

This is for a good cause, folks. Here’s hoping the folks affected can bounce back.

Yesterday, Sentai Filmworks kicked off a GoFundMe campaign. The drive, which has a goal of $500,000, aims to raise funds for Sentai employees who saw their homes damaged or lost in Hurricane Harvey.

As of press time, the campaign stands at $4,750 across 50 contributors, with an average donation of $95 per backer.

Sentai’s message is as follows:

Dear Anime Community,

Hurricane Harvey has wreaked devastation on our beloved Houston and adversely affected numerous Sentai employees. Many have been left homeless, car-less, or have been displaced seeking refuge elsewhere.

Please help us get our Sentai Team back on its feet and raise $500,000 to assist our employees and their families in this time of need. 100% of donations will go directly to affected employees. No donation is too small!

Please help spread the word to friends, family, and colleagues via text, email, or social media.

All Our Best,

Sentai Filmworks

The publisher also posted a video and several images, which depict the aftermath of Harvey. We’ve published the video below:

Earlier this week, Anime News Network reported that they reached out to Section23 Films about their status in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. The company’s office have not been affected, though several staff members have homes that were damaged by the storm, or worse.

Sagrada Reset’s latest episode was delayed due to complications from the storm.

Hurricane Harvey was a category 4 hurricane, which made landfall in southeastern Texas on Friday evening. The storm dumped over 40 inches of rain on Texas, leading tens of thousands of people to be forced out of their homes. Affected areas included Houston, Corpus Christi, and Aransas Pass. At least fifty deaths have been reported as a result of the storm as of press time.
