New “One Piece” Anime Special Trailers Tease Battle Between Luffy & Sanji

An epic battle is about to break out on October 1. Who will come out on top?

On October 1, One Piece will air a one-hour special episode, which will highlight the climax (though not the conclusion) to the ongoing “Whole Cake Island Arc.” In the episode, Luffy will be pit against his own ally, as he squares off against Sanji.

To promote the event, the official One Piece YouTube channel started streaming a trio of short teaser trailers.

The special will hit Japanese TV on October 1, at 9:00AM. It will overflow into the 9:30 – 10:00AM block that’s usually occupied by Dragon Ball Super, which gets its own hour-long special a week later.

The “Whole Cake Island” arc is an ongoing story segment in both the One Piece manga and anime. The manga started the arc in 2016, with chapter 825 (Book 82), while the anime kicked off in 2017 with episode 783.

The plot arc is unrelated to the Episode of East Blue special, which aired on August 25.

A visual for Sanji’s new costume was previously released. You can check it out below:

That Time I Saw Nagito Komaeda At Whole Foods

It isn’t unusual for me to see anime characters in my neighborhood. I live near a DC metro stop that’s crammed with hotels, so Anime USA and Blerdcon take place here. To be honest, that’s probably why I shouldn’t have been surprised to see Nagito Komaeda at Whole Foods. I was out of Dino Nuggets […]
