Sentai Filmworks Streams Subtitled “Himouto! Umaru-chan R” Trailer

Umaru’s ready to step back into the spotlight! Well… give her five more minutes.

Earlier today, Sentai Filmworks started streaming an English-subtitled teaser for Himouto! Umaru-chan R. The 56-second promo is the same teaser that hit the web in April, when the show was first announced:

Himouto! Umaru-chan R hits Amazon’s Anime Strike channel on October 8. The series also hits Japanese TV that day, with the full schedule as follows:

  • Tokyo MX: 10/8/2017 at 24:00 (10/9/2017 at midnight)

The series is the second season in the Himouto! Umaru-chan anime franchise. Masahiko Ota (YuruYuriGabriel Dropout) will return to direct the series at Doga Kobo, with Takashi Aoshima (Gabriel DropoutYuruYuri) taking charge of series composition. Aya Takano (Polar Bear’s CafeKimi no Koe o Todoketai) will also return to provide character designs.

Several members of the original voice cast will also return to reprise their roles. The following have been confirmed:

  • Umaru Doma: Aimi Tanaka
  • Taihei Doma: Kenji Nojima
  • Nana Ebina: Akari Kageyama
  • Kirie Motoba: Haruka Shiraishi
  • Sylphynford Tachibana: Yurina Furukawa

Aimi Tanaka will return to perform opening theme song Nimensei ☆ Uraomote Life! (Duplicitousness ☆ Two-Faced Life!). The group SisterS, which is composed of Aimi Tanaka, Akari Kageyama, Haruka Shiraishi, and Yurina Furukawa, will perform closing theme song Umarun Taisō(Umarun Calisthenics).

The first season of the Himouto! Umaru-chan anime aired during the Summer 2015 broadcast season. Sentai Filmworks currently holds the rights to the show, which Crunchyroll streamed as a simulcast. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

Umaru is a renowned beautiful 16-year-old girl in town, living with her elder brother Taihei. She acts a perfect sister with a kind heart, intelligence and popularity, who everybody admires. So who would believe how true Umaru is at home? Sleeping, gaming, watching TV, eating junk food, drinking cola… that’s almost all she does at home, leaving all the housework to her brother.

Her camouflage is so perfect that when one of her classmates visits her home by surprise and witnesses “true Umaru,” she pretends as if she is Umaru’s younger sister. Taihei is always swayed by Umaru’s gap between ostensible face and spoiled life, but he cannot hate his comical and somehow lovable cute little sister!

Teaser trailers that focus on Umaru, Ebina, Kirie, and Sylphynford previously hit the web. You can check these out below:
