“Gakuen Babysitters” Anime Gets Theme Song Artists, 1/7/2018 Premiere


The babysitter’s club is opening this winter! (Not related to that other babysitter’s club)

The latest issue of Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine (January 2018) reports that the Gakuen Babysitters anime will hit Japanese TV on January 7. The publication also revealed the core details on the show’s theme songs.

Daisuke Ono, who plays Keigo Saikawa in the show, will perform opening theme song Endless Happy World. The singing unit “Hyorotto Danshi”, which is composed of Kotarō Nishiyama (Ryūichi Kashima) and Yuichiro Umehara (Hayato Kamitani) will perform closing theme song Oshiete yo (Tell Me).

The full broadcast schedule is as follows:

  • Tokyo MX: 1/7/2018 at 23:00 (1/7/2018 at 11:00PM)
  • Sun TV: 1/9/2018 at 24:00 (1/10/2018 at midnight)
  • BS11: 1/9/2018 at 24:30 (1/10/2018 at 12:30AM)

A drama CD that features the anime’s voice cast will ship with the sixteenth compiled manga volume when it hits stores on January 4.

Gakuen Babysitters is based on Hari Tokeino’s manga of the same name. Shūsei Morishita is directing the project at Brain’s Base, with Mina Ōsawa providing character designs. Yuuko Kakihara (Chihayafuru 2, Digimon Adventure tri. Chapters 1-4) is in charge of series composition for the title.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Hayato Kamitani: Yuichiro Umehara
  • Taka Kamitani: Yuko Sanpei
  • Yoshihito Usaida: Tomoaki Maeno

  • Takuma Mamizuka: Ayaka Saito
  • Kazuma Mamizuka: Atsumi Tanezaki

  • Midori Sawatari: Kaede Hondo

Hari Tokeino’s Gakuen Babysitters manga kicked off in the pages of Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine in 2009. To date, fourteen compiled volumes have been produced. Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

After their parents are killed in a plane crash, Ryuuichi and his younger brother Kotarou are taken in by the chairman, who they never met before, of an elite academy. Ryuuichi becomes the school daycare’s new babysitter.
