Crunchyroll Streams English-Subbed “Citrus” Trailer


Sometimes, love hits when you least expect it.

Earlier today, Crunchyroll started streaming an English-subtitled trailer for Citrus. The 90-second promo is identical to the teaser that hit the web on September 1.

Citrus hits Japanese TV on January 6. Crunchyroll will stream the show as a simulcast, while Funimation is slated to produce a SimulDub.

Takeo Takahashi (Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers , Spice and Wolf) is directing the project at Passione, with Izuro Ijuuin filling the dual role of character designer and chief animation director. Naoki Hayashi is in charge of series composition.

Record label Lantis is in charge of music production.

Citrus will hit Japanese TV in January 2018. Tokyo MX, AT-X, and BS-Fuji will all carry the series.

The previously confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Yuzuko Aihara: Ayana Taketatsu
  • Mei Aihara: Minami Tsuda
  • Harumi Taniguchi: Yukiyo Fujii
  • Himeko Momokino: Yurika Kubo
  • Matsuri Mizusawa: Shiori Izawa
  • Kayo Maruta: Ikumi Hayama

Saburouta’s Citrus manga launched in the pages of Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime magazine in 2012. The ongoing series currently spans seven compiled volumes, with the most recent hitting stores on June 16.

Crunchyroll describes Citrus as:

Yuzu Aihara loves fashion, friends, and having fun! But when her mom remarries and she’s forced to transfer schools, this fashionable teen’s sweet life turns sour. On her first day, she makes enemies with the beautiful student council president, Mei, who also winds up being her brand-new stepsister. But nothing can prepare Yuzu for a surprise kiss from this girl who supposedly hates her!
