Mike Ferreira: Good evening everyone, and welcome to the Herald Anime Club. I’m Mike Ferreira, and I’m joined by Anthony Simpson and L.B. Bryant
L.B. Bryant: Hello!
Anthony Simpson: Evening
Mike Ferreira: Tonight, we’re discussing The Ancient Magus’ Bride Episode 10: We live and learn (hangin’ on the edge of tomorrow)
L.B. Bryant: I loved so many different parts of this episode that it’s hard to know where to start.
Mike Ferreira: “Stupid sexy magic grandpa Santa”?
L.B. Bryant: lol that’s a good place to start.

Anthony Simpson: Lets start with the big part of the episode we learn some of Bone Daddy’s past.
L.B. Bryant: Yeah, lots of questions were answered here.
L.B. Bryant: Can’t wait to see next week when even more questions will be answered :)
Mike Ferreira: I kind of want to see more of Lindel’s master.
L.B. Bryant: I’m sure she’ll be around more next week
Anthony Simpson: Same here. She’s amazing from what we see so far.
Mike Ferreira: She better be. She’s a fascinating character in her own right.
Anthony Simpson: Side note it was a nice touch to see that Lindel’s master a PoC instead of a white person.
Mike Ferreira: Indeed.

L.B. Bryant: Did anyone else love seeing chibi Elias as much as I did? :)
Mike Ferreira: Yes!
Anthony Simpson: That was great.
Mike Ferreira: Chibi Elias was adorable.
L.B. Bryant: I want a chibi Elias plush
Mike Ferreira: I’m kind of amazed at how little merch this series has gotten, on that note.
L.B. Bryant: It’s still kind of early I think
L.B. Bryant: The merch will come I’m sure.
Mike Ferreira: A full season in? Usually we have figures of the characters in uncharacteristically sexy outfits by this point.
L.B. Bryant: Yeah I suppose so

Mike Ferreira: But anyway… if we’re begging for plushies, I want a Selkie
L.B. Bryant: hehe that would be very cool.
Mike Ferreira: She was adorbs.
Anthony Simpson: This seems like one of those shows if they did that stuff Mike it would feel EXTREMELY out of place.
Mike Ferreira: Yeah, people said that about Eva too
Anthony Simpson: true.
L.B. Bryant: Moving along, I really enjoyed how this series is tying together threads that it left behind earlier such as showing us the grown up version of the dragon that Chise met a few episodes ago.
Mike Ferreira: Agreed. I kind of like how they closed that thread – right down to Chise cutting her own branch for the wand
Anthony Simpson: I liked having Chise cutting her own branch for the wand.
Anthony Simpson: Its better than having someone else doing it and then just giving her the wand.
Mike Ferreira: Indeed.

Mike Ferreira: On another note, I’m very intrigued by some of the background rumblings. The “You’re becoming complacent,” “Maybe I want that,” exchange between Chise and Lindel… (cont.)
Mike Ferreira: Or the “You’re wasting her potential, Elias” from Renfred.
L.B. Bryant: Yeah, I felt like that moment revealed quite a bit about Chise with a minimal amount of words.
Mike Ferreira: It really did.
Anthony Simpson: True. I mean we haven’t really seen Elias show Chise much in regards to controlling her abilities.
Mike Ferreira: We’ve gotten hints, like the first part of the Doggo Saga, where she’s actively mixing potions.
L.B. Bryant: I liked hearing her say with her own words that she’s choosing to become complacent rather than having that attitude forced onto her by Elias.
Mike Ferreira: Indeed.
Mike Ferreira: The words of a very tired person, there.

Mike Ferreira: On the flip side, Silver and Eliias being anxious about Chise being gone was adorable.
Anthony Simpson: True.
L.B. Bryant: Yeah, I’m really looking forward to seeing the backstory of our favorite landlord
Mike Ferreira: Sandwiches, hugs, and a hammer to break legs with. Best landlord ever.
Anthony Simpson: I just want to know if she is going to be breaking legs in her backstory. If she does then Silver will become be Best GIrl.
Mike Ferreira: That would make her amazing.
L.B. Bryant: (I don’t really have anything else that I wanted to bring up for this episode heh)
Mike Ferreira: But yeah… overall, I think we can all agree. Strong episode. Great moments for Elias and Chise, fantastic new character in Rahab, and Lindel was apparently a nomad which is fascinating.

L.B. Bryant: Indeed.
Mike Ferreira: Any final comments this week?
L.B. Bryant: Can’t wait to see more of Elias’ backstory next week :)
Anthony Simpson: Great episode. Can’t wait to see more of Bone Daddy back story next week.
Mike Ferreira: Amen to that.
Mike Ferreira: Just a quick heads-up: We won’t have a meeting next week, as we’ll be hosting our December podcast. We’ll conclude the Bone Daddy saga on our December 23 meeting.
Mike Ferreira: But with that said, have a great night, everyone! Til next time, remember: Dragons grow up fast.
Anthony Simpson: Good night.
