Grimm’s world, this clearly isn’t.

Earlier today, the official Märchen Mädchen (Fairy Tale Girls) anime website updated with a new visual and a teaser trailer. We break the details down below:

Trailer

The two-minute trailer opens with a nonplussed Hazuki Kagimura standing in a steamy bath as she stares at a person off-camera. As she darts out of the room, theme song Watashi no tame no Monogatari ~My Uncompleted Story~ by fhána kicks off as the scene cuts to a more standard trailer format. Snippets of footage and character dialogue provide the base story beats for the series, as character role confirmations flash onto the scene.

Key Visual

The new visual features the major cast members, who are standing against the silhouette of a castle. Lead character Hazuki Kagimura stands in the center.

Märchen Mädchen hits Japanese TV on January 11. The full broadcast schedule is as follows:

Märchen Mädchen is based on a title that Matsu wrote over the course of three years before he passed away. The first novel, which is still attributed to him, hit stores on February 24.

Two other novels by Matsu, Mayoi Neko Overrun! and Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! both received anime adaptations. He also co-wrote the story concepts for Ixion Saga DT and handled series composition on Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin.

Sadly, Matsu passed away last spring.
