So, the rain is finally coming to an end, and things are coming to light in the evening calm.
Earlier today, the official Koi wa Ameagari no You ni (Love is Like After the Rain) anime website updated with several new details. The main cast, as well as information on the show’s opening theme and première date were officially revealed. We break the details down below:
The 30-second trailer features theme song Nostalgic Rainfall by Chico (and Honeyworks) as a background track. Sayumi Watabe and Hiroaki Hirata provide dialogue as Akira and Masami, respectively.
The series will star the following:
- Akira Tachibana: Sayumi Watabe
- Masami Kondo: Hiroaki Hirata
- Haruka Kyan: Emi Miyajima
- Yui Nishida: Haruka Fukuhara

Chico (with Honeyworks) will perform opening theme song Nostalgic Rainfall.
Koi wa Ameagari no You ni will début on Fuji TV’s NoitaminA block on January 11. As with all NoitaminA shows, this one will stream exclusively on Amazon’s digital platform both inside and outside of Japan.
Ayumu Watanabe (Space Brothers, If Her Flag Breaks) was tapped to direct the show at Wit Studio, with Yuka Shibata (Grrl Power!, Kimi ni Todoke – From Me to You) providing character designs. Deko Akao (Snow White with the Red Hair, Noragami) is in charge of series composition.
Ryo Yoshimata will score the show’s soundtrack. Aimer will perform closing theme song Ref:rain.
Jun Mayuzuki’s Koi wa Ameagari no You ni began publication in Monthly Big Comic Spirits in 2014. The series moved to Weekly Big Comic Spirits in early 2016. To date, six compiled volumes have been released, with the most recent hitting stores in October. The next book is due to ship to retailers on March 10.
