Just like the fruit, the Citrus anime looks like it’s shaping up to be sweet, but just a little tart.

Earlier today, the official Citrus anime website updated with a new teaser trailer. The 40-second trailer features snippets of theme songs Azalea by nano.RIPE and Dear Teardrop by Mia Regina as background tracks.

Citrus hits Japanese TV on January 6. Crunchyroll will stream the show as a simulcast, while Funimation is slated to produce a SimulDub.

Takeo Takahashi (Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers , Spice and Wolf) is directing the project at Passione, with Izuro Ijuuin filling the dual role of character designer and chief animation director. Naoki Hayashi is in charge of series composition.

Record label Lantis is in charge of music production. nano.RIPE will perform opening theme Azalea, while Mia Regina will handle closing theme song Dear Teardrop.
