A-1 Pictures Takes to Twitter for New “Slow Start” Trailer

Despite the title, the team behind this are really speeding up their delivery of promo materials. That’s a good thing.

Earlier today, the Slow Start anime’s official Twitter account updated with a new teaser trailer. The minute-long trailer uses opening theme song Ne! Ne! Ne! by the show’s main cast (under the name STARTails☆) as a background track.

Slow Start is set to premiere on Japanese TV on January 6. Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, BS11, TV Aichi, and Kansai TV will all carry the title. Aniplex of America currently holds the rights to the series, and will offer it on Crunchyroll as a simulcast.

Hiroyuki Hashimoto (Is the order a rabbit?, Magical Girl Raising Project) is directing the show at A-1 Pictures, with Masato Yasuno (Flying Witch) providing character designs. Mio Inoue is in charge of series composition for the project.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Hana Ichinose: Reina Kondo
  • Tamate Momochi: Ayasa Itō
  • Eiko Tokura: Tomomi Mineuchi
  • Kamuri Sengoku: Maria Naganawa
  • Kiyose Enami: Manami Numakura
  • Hiroe Hannen: Maaya Uchida
  • Shion Kyōzuka: M.A.O

Yuiko Tokumi’s Slow Start manga debuted in Manga Time Kirara in June 2013. The series currently spans three collected volumes, with the fourth book due to hit retailers on June 27. Before working on Slow Start, series creator Yuiko Tokumi served as character designer for Bottle Fairy.

Aniplex of America describes Slow Start as:

Hana Ichinose is a very shy and introverted girl about to start high school in the spring.

After moving away from her parent’s house in the city due to unforeseen circumstances, she decides to live at an apartment managed by her cousin, Shion, called Temari Heights.

A new school, new life, and wonderful new friendships.

As Hana gradually opens her heart to the people around her, her life begins to unfold with exciting and cheerful moments.

From playing around like children to feeling anxious like an adult…

This is an adorable and heart-warming tale about growing up … slowly.
