GONZO is one of those studios that keeps hanging around by the skin of their teeth. They don’t make nearly as much noise as they used to a mere decade ago but when they do make noise, it’s usually a good idea to pay attention to what they are trying to say.
Case in point; a brand new promotional video has been released for the Spring 2018 series, Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi. While the 35 second trailer doesn’t show much, it does give viewers a very good idea of what kind of production quality we’re going to get from this series (hint: not too shabby!).
Female college student Aoi inherited her deceased grandfather’s ability to see ayakashi. One day, while Aoi is feeding some ayakashi, a demon appears! He declares that Aoi’s grandfather owed a great debt, and as compensation, Aoi must marry the demon! Aoi refuses, and decides to pay off the debt by working.
In addition to a few seconds worth of animation we got, the trailer ends with a few interesting tidbits regarding the cast. While we don’t know what roles they will be playing, we do know that the series will star Nao Touyama, Katsuyuki Konishi (America in Hetalia), and Shun’ichi Toki (Leo de la Iglesia in YURI!!! On Ice).
Lastly, the official website also updated with three character key visuals which you can see below.
