“Youjo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil” Has “Important Announcement” on 1/8/2018

So, what’s the over/under on this being some form of merchandising?

Earlier today, the Youjo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil anime’s official Twitter account updated with news of an upcoming “Super Important Announcement.”

According to the tweet, the reveal will be made during the rebroadcast of the show’s second episode, Prologue. The episode will air on BS11 on January 8, at 24:30 (1/9/2018 at 12:30AM).

Youjo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil originally aired in the Winter 2017 broadcast season.

The series is based on Carlo Zen and illustrator Shinobu Shinotsuki’s light novel series of the same name. Yutaka Uemura (Punch Line, The Mystic Archives of Dantalian) directed the show at Studio NuT, with Yuji Hosogoe providing character designs. Kenta Ihara was in charge of series composition.

Crunchyroll streamed Youjo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil as a simulcast, while Funimation produced a SimulDub for the title. Crunchyroll describes the show as:

It is June of the year CE 1923. A young girl with blond hair and blue eyes, Tanya Degurechaff, has entered the final curriculum of the Imperial Military Academy and is training at the third patrol line in the northern military district, the Norden Theater, as part of her service to the force. Her training, the first step toward a brilliant career as an aviation mage, should have gone off without a hitch… but things took an unexpected turn.
