Even though parts of the country is under the snow, this series aims to bring back the rain.
Earlier today, the official Koi wa Ameagari no You ni (Love is Like After the Rain) anime website updated with a new key visual and trailer, as well as several new cast members. We break the details down below:
The 98-second trailer offers a brief overview of the show’s plot, using character dialogue to convey the core story beats. Theme songs Nostalgic Rainfall by CHICO and Honeyworks and Ref:rain by Aimer are used as background musical tracks.
The new image features Akira and Masami standing before a dreamily drawn forest, which replaces the natural hues with flat colours.
The series will add the following:
- Takashi Yoshizawa: Junya Ikeda
- Kubo: Mika Kanai
- Ryosuke Kase: Tomoaki Maeno
Koi wa Ameagari no You ni will début on Fuji TV’s NoitaminA block on January 11. As with all NoitaminA shows, this one will stream exclusively on Amazon’s digital platform both inside and outside of Japan.
Ayumu Watanabe (Space Brothers, If Her Flag Breaks) was tapped to direct the show at Wit Studio, with Yuka Shibata (Grrl Power!, Kimi ni Todoke – From Me to You) providing character designs. Deko Akao (Snow White with the Red Hair, Noragami) is in charge of series composition.
Ryo Yoshimata will score the show’s soundtrack. CHICO and Honeyworks will perform Nostalgic Rainfall, while Aimer performs closing theme song Ref:rain.
Jun Mayuzuki’s Koi wa Ameagari no You ni began publication in Monthly Big Comic Spirits in 2014. The series moved to Weekly Big Comic Spirits in early 2016. To date, six compiled volumes have been released, with the most recent hitting stores in October. The next book is due to ship to retailers on March 10.
