Two voice acting legends are heading back to Boston for New England’s biggest anime con!
Earlier today, Anime Boston announced that voice actors Monica Rial and Greg Ayres will attend this year’s event as guests of honor. The two are the first North American guests confirmed for the con.
Greg Ayres has been active in the anime industry since 2002, when he voiced Mikhail and Captain in Steel Angel Kurumi. The veteran actor’s gone on lend his voice to over 200 roles, including numerous fan favorites. His most popular credits include:
- Ayato Naoi (Angel Beats!)
- Ganta Igarashi (Deadman Wonderland)
- Kaoru Hitachiin (Ouran High School Host Club)
- MonoKuma (Danganronpa)
- Nagisa Haruki (Free! Eternal Summer)
- Negi Springfield (Negima!)
- Son Goku (Saiyuki)
- Yukio “Koyuki” Tanaka (Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad)
Monica Rial has been active in the anime industry since 1999, when she provided walla for the Martian Successor Nadesico dub. Since then, Rial has gone on to voice more than five hundred roles, including numerous fan favorites. Her most prominent credits include:
- Kaede Kayano (Assassination Classroom)
- Minamo “Nyamo” Kurosawa (Azumanga Daioh)
- Mitsuki Nase (Beyond the Boundary)
- Bulma (Dragon Ball)
- Hello Kitty (Hello Kitty’s Animation Theater)

Anime Boston 2018 will be held from March 30 through April 1 at Boston’s Hynes Convention Center. J-Rock group FLOW and singer-songwriter Asaka will also attend as guests for the convention.
