Sunrise’s Hideyuki Tomioka and Katsuyuki Sumizawa to Attend Anime Boston 2018

Did someone say Anime Boston needed more giant robot love? ‘Cause it’s totally getting it today.

Earlier today, Anime Boston announced that Sunrise Senior Managing Director Hideyuki Tomioka and screenwriter Katsuyuki Sumizawa will attend this year’s event as guests of honor. The two were announced as the third round of Japanese guests for this the con.

Hideyuki Tomioka has been in the industry since the 1980s, when he started as a part-timer on 1981 series Taiyou no Kiba Dougram. From there, he went on to tackle Production Advancement roles on Armored Trooper VOTOMS and Panzer World Galient.

Through his career, Tomioka has worked as producer on numerous prominent projects, including Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Steamboy, and Inuyasha.

Katsuyuki Sumizawa has been active in the anime industry since the 1980s. Through his career, Sumizawa has penned scripts for numerous prominent titles, including Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Naruto, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, and Yu Yu Hakusho.

In addition, Sumizawa wrote the Mobile Suit Gundam: Frozen Teardrop novel.

Tomioka and Sumizawa will join four previously confirmed guests:

  • Asaka
  • FLOW
  • Greg Ayres
  • Monica Rial

Anime Boston 2018 will be held from March 30 through April 1 at Boston’s Hynes Convention Center.
