Kensho Ono Joins “Eiga Precure Super Stars!” Anime Movie Cast

Some know him as Kuroko, others as Arata. Now, get ready to meet Kensho Ono’s newest role.

Earlier today, the official Eiga Precure Super Stars! (Precure the Movie Super Stars!) Twitter account announced that Kensho Ono will join the film’s cast. Ono will play movie-original character Clover in the film.

Kensho Ono has performed in over 80 anime roles, including Kuroko in Kuroko’s Basketball, Phichit Chulanont in Yuri!!! on Ice, and Arata Kaizaki in ReLIFE. In addition, Ono has provided the Japanese voice for Harry Potter in the Japanese dubs for the Hollywood films.

On January 12, the movie’s staff announced that Kazuki Kitamura will voice the villainous Usobakka (lit. “lying moron”) in the movie. The character, whom you can check out below, will be Kitamura’s voice acting début role.

Eiga Precure Super Stars! will hit Japanese theaters on March 17. The feature will focus mainly on the characters from Hugtto! Precure, and will feature appearances by characters from Maho Girls PreCure! and Kirakira ☆ Precure a la Mode.

This is the ninth entry in the Precure All Stars! film series. The films have been a near-annual event in Japan, and usually feature appearances from every single PreCure series.

Last year was the first to not feature a Precure All Stars movie, instead hosting the premiere of Eiga Precure Dream Stars! on March 18.

Hugtto! Precure will hit Japanese TV on February 4, at 8:30AM. The series will replace Kirakira ☆ Precure a la Mode, which is currently airing.

Junichi Sato (Aria the Animation, Sailor Moon) and Akifumi Zako (Go! Princess Pretty Cure the Movie Go! Go!! Gorgeous Triple Feature!!!, Dream 9 Toriko & One Piece & Dragon Ball Z Chō Collaboration Special!!) were tapped to direct the series at Toei Animation, with Toshie Kawamura (Glitter Force, Karneval) providing character designs. Fumi Tsubota (Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live, 12-Sai: Chiccha na Mune no Tokimeki) is in charge of series composition.
