Anime Matsuri to Host Chiaki Kon as a Guest; Sailor Moon Store Also

Moon, prism power, con up!

Earlier today, Anime Matsuri announced that they are partnering with the Sailor Moon franchise for this year’s event. The convention will host an official Sailor Moon pop-up shop at the con, which will include a station that allows fans to sign up for the Official Sailor Moon fan club.

In addition, Anime Matsuri will host Sailor Moon manga editor Fumio “Osabu” Osano and Sailor Moon Crystal director Chiaki Kon.

Chiaki Kon has been active in the industry since 1998. She made her directorial debut in 2002, with the The Twelve Kingdoms TV series. She has since gone on to helm numerous fan-favorite titles, including Nodame Cantabile: Paris, When They Cry: Higurashi, and Sailor Moon Crystal.

Fumio Osano has been active in the industry since 1987. He got his start at Nakayoshi magazine, where he made appendix promo items for manga series Goldfish Warning!. He is the first editor and manager for the Sailor Moon manga, and was often referenced in series creator Naoko Takeuchi’s asides during the manga’s run.

Anime Matsuri will be held at Houston, TX’s George R. Brown Convention Center from March 29 – April 1.
