“It’s My Life” Launches Crowdfunding Campaign For New Anime Short


Yesterday, a crowdfunding campaign launched for an anime short based on Imomushi Narita’s It’s My Life webcomic. The drive launched on Japanese platform Makuake with a goal of 5 million yen ($46,055.36 USD) by April 25.

Funding will be used to produce a three-minute short. Stretch goals reach as high as 15 million yen ($138,166.08 USD) with the final goal being an eight-minute short with opening and closing animation sequences.

As of press time, the campaign stands at 1,185,000 yen ($10,915.12 USD) across 93 backers, with an average contribution of 12741.94 yen ($117.37 USD) per contributor.

The campaign features a teaser trailer and several visuals, along with the first major crew members. We break the details down below.

Trailer

The minute-long promo features an early look at the series in motion, Tetsu Inada (Stra) and Hiromi Igarashi (Noah) providing the core story beats through character dialogue.

Visuals

Three visuals were unveiled for the project: One general image, which features Noah against a mosaic of characters from the comic, a shot of Astra and Noah together, and a general call-to-action.

Staff

Hisayoshi Hirasawa (Miss Bernard said.) will pull double duty as director and sound director at Creators in Pack. Other confirmed crew members include:

The title will star the following:

It’s My Life debuted on Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app in December 2014. The ongoing series has received nine compiled volumes, with the most recent hitting stores on December 12, 2017. More than 450,000 copies have been sold to date.
