Funimation Reveals “Hakyu Hoshin Engi” Dub Cast

There’s still time to call it “Soul Hunter Reborn,” folks! (Kidding, kidding!)

Earlier today, Funimation started streaming the first episode of their English SimulDub for Hakyu Hoshin Engi. The publisher released the show’s cast with the episode’s release.

The series will star the following:

  • Taikobo: Josh Grelle
  • Bunchu: J. Michael Tatum
  • Chu: Luke Longacre
  • Dakki: Alexis Tipton
  • Fugen: Aaron Dismuke
  • Genshi: Charlie Campbell
  • Hakutsuru: Anthony Bowling
  • Hiko: Brad Hawkins
  • Kokukirin: Mike McFarland
  • Kokutenko: Joel McDonald
  • Shinkohyo: Kyle Igneczi
  • Supushan: Tyler Walker

Tyler Walker is directing the adaptation, which features scripts by Blair Rowan. Ryan Urbanovsky and Colby Cockburn are serving as ADR Engineers, while Neal Malley serves as Mixing Engineer.

Hakyū Hoshin Engi is based on Ryu Fujisaki’s Hoshin Engi (Soul Hunter) manga. The show is being helmed by Masahiro Aizawa at C-Station, with Yoshimitsu Yamashita (Blade of the Immortal, Samurai Flamenco) providing character designs. Natsuko Takahashi (Yuyushiki, Fantastic Detective Labyrinth) is in charge of series composition.

Funimation describes the series as:

When his entire clan is wiped out by a beautiful fox demon, young Taikobo is put in charge of the Hoshin Project. Burdened with sealing away evil immortals, Taikobo must figure out who he can trust while trying to save the world.
