Three new members of the library are joining the crew.

Earlier today, the official Maerchen Maedchen (lit. Fairy Tale Girls) anime website updated with three new cast members. The series will add the following:

  • Tatiana: Ari Ozawa
  • Angelina: Amina Satō
  • Sachi Hino: Azusa Tadokoro

Maerchen Maedchen began airing on January 11. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as part of their simulcast lineup.

Hisashi Saito (The Testament of Sister New Devil, Heaven’s Lost Property) is serving as Chief Director on the project, while Shigeru Ueda (Elemental Gelade, RIN – Daughters of Mnemosyne) takes the director’s chair at Hoods Entertainment. Yuki Morikawa is providing character designs for the title, while late creator Tomohiro Matsu (Mayoi Neko Overrun!, Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin) is credited with series composition.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Yumilia Qazan: Lynn
  • Shizuka Tsuchimikado: Rie Suegara
  • Hazuki Kagimura: Tomori Kusunoki
  • Agathe Arier: Ai Kakuma
  • Maria Rasputin: Airi Ootsu
  • Lynne Daves: Rina Hidaka
  • Arthur Pendragon: Reina Ueda
  • Ariko Kasumi: Kaede Hondo
  • Headmaster: Akemi Okamura

Maerchen Mädchen is based on a title that Matsu wrote over the course of three years before he passed away. The first novel, which is still attributed to him, hit stores on February 24.

Two other novels by Matsu, Mayoi Neko Overrun! and Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! both received anime adaptations. He also co-wrote the story concepts for Ixion Saga DT and handled series composition on Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin.

Sadly, Matsu passed away last spring.
