It’s time to return to another world once again…
Earlier today, the official Re:Zero anime website announced that the upcoming OVA will recieve a theatrical run. As of press time, ticket and location details have not been announced.
A new visual for the project was also revealed, which features Subaru and Emilia playing in the snow.
More details on the title will be revealed at AnimeJapan, which will be held on March 25 at the Tokyo Big Sight.
Studio Silver Link, who handled the TV series, will return to animate the new episode. The confirmed voice cast includes:
- Subaru: Yūsuke Kobayashi
- Rem: Inori Minase
- Emilia: Rie Takahashi
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- is based on Tappei Nagatsuki’s light novel series of the same name. The series originally began airing in the Spring 2016 broadcast season, and ran for two cours.
Masaharu Watanabe (Wakaba Girl) directed the project at White Fox, with Kyuta Sakai (Higurashi no Naku Koroni Kai, Steins;Gate) providing character designs. Masahiro Yokotani (The Devil is a Part-Timer!, Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club) was in charge of series composition.
Crunchyroll streamed Re:ZERO as it aired in Japan. They describe the title as:
Natsuki Subaru, an ordinary high school student, is on his way home from the convenience store when he finds himself transported to another world. As he’s lost and confused in a new world where he doesn’t even know left from right, the only person to reach out to him was a beautiful girl with silver hair. Determined to repay her somehow for saving him from his own despair, Subaru agrees to help the girl find something she’s looking for…
