Akkun to Kanojo Anime Gets New Trailer

L-look. It’s not like this trailer means anything, baka!

Earlier today, the official Akkun to Kanojo (Akkun and his Girlfriend) anime website updated with a new teaser trailer. The minute-long promo introduces the major cast members, as theme song Koi no Balloon (Balloon of Love) plays as a background track.

Akkun to Kanojo will hit Japanese TV on April 9. The full broadcast schedule is as follows:

  • AT-X: 4/6/2018 at 22:30 (4/6/2018 at 10:30PM)
  • Tokyo MX: 4/9/2018 at 25:10 (4/10/2018 at 1:10AM JST)

Each episode will have a five-minute run time.

Shin Katagai (Neo Angelique Abyss, Eyeshield 21) was tapped to direct the series at Yumeta Company, with Motohiro Taniguchi (Yuruyuri San Hai!) providing character designs. Yuka Yamada (Neo Angelique Abyss, Samurai Warriors) is in charge of series composition.

The series will star the following:

  • Atsuhiro “Akkun” Kagari: Tatsuhisa Suzuki
  • Non “Nontan” Katagiri: Ayaka Suwa
  • Masago Matsuo: Keisuke Ueda
  • Chiho Kagari: Arisa Kōri

Waka Kakitsubata ‘s Akkun to Kanojo launched in the pages of Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Gene in June 2013. The series boasts over 480,000 books in print. In addition to the print sources, the title is available on Pixiv.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

The romantic comedy follows the everyday life of an extremely tsundere (initially aloof and abrasive, but later kind-hearted) boy named Atsuhiro “Akkun” Kagari and his girlfriend Non “Nontan” Katagiri. Akkun’s behavior is harsh towards Nontan with verbal abuse and neglect, but he actually is head-over-heels for her and habitually acts like a stalker by tailing her or eavesdropping. Nontan is oblivious to Akkun’s stalker ways, and thinks his actions are cute.
