Sword Art Online: Alicization Gets a New Visual, Trailer, & Staff


Get ready, Sword Art fans, because it’s Kirito and Asuna’s time to shine! Er…. again!

Earlier today, the official Sword Art Online: Alicization anime website updated with a new trailer and visual, as well as details on the show’s cast and crew.

We break the details down below.

Trailer

The 30-second trailer opens with a zoom through a hallway. As a string melody kicks in, the show’s character designs are revealed against a backdrop of nature footage.

Visual

The image features Kirito and Eugeo leaning against a tree. A head shot of Alice can be seen at the top of the scene.

Staff

Manabu Ono (The irregular at magic high school, Saki) was tapped to direct the project at A-1 Pictures. The team of Gou Suzuki (Minami-ke Tadaima, Oreimo 2), Tomoya Nishiguchi, and Shingo Adachi (Sword Art Online franchise, Wagnaria!!) are providing character designs.

Cast

The series will star the following:

  • Asuna Yūki: Haruka Tomatsu
  • Kazuto Kirigaya/Kirito: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
  • Alice Zuberg: Ai Kayano
  • Eugeo: Nobunaga Shimazaki

Premiere

Sword Art Online: Alicization hits Japanese TV in October.

The series will adapt volumes 9-18 from the original light novel series.
