Sentai Filmworks Adds Doreiku: The Animation (NSFW)


It looks like Sentai has their sights on domination this season… albeit in a very diferent way.

Earlier today, Sentai Filmworks announced that they licensed Doreiku: The Animation. The publisher will stream the title on as a simulcast on select digital outlets in the following regions:

  • North America
  • United Kingdom
  • Ireland
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • South Africa
  • Latin America
  • Netherlands
  • Scandinavia

A home video release is also planned, though specifics have yet to be revealed as of press time.

Doreiku: The Animation will hit Japanese TV on April 12.

Ryōichi Kuraya (Tsugumomo) is directing the project and writing the scripts at studios TNK and Zero-G. Junji Goto (High School DxD, School Days) will fill the dual role of character designer and chief animation director.

Shōgo Sakamoto will perform opening theme song Karakara no Kokoro (Dried-Up Heart), while pile provides closing theme song BJ.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

Doreiku: The Animation is based on Shinichi Okada and artist Hiroto Ōishi’s Doreiku: Boku to 23-nin no Dorei (Slave District: 23 Slaves and Me) manga. The series began its life as light novel series Boku to 23-nin no Dorei, which originally appeared on novel site Everystar. Futabasha picked up the rights to the series, which they began publishing the title under their main banner. Three volumes, along with sequel story Doreiku 2nd Shinjuku Kikō Kai and 23-nin no Dorei.ex have been released to date.

Okada and Ōishi have recently begun work on a new series, titled Dai Dorei: Kimi to 1-Oku 3-Senban no Dorei. One volume has been released to date, as the second will hit stores on Tuesday.

The Dorei-ku: Boku to 23-nin no Dorei manga began publication in 2012. Nine compiled volumes have been released to date, with the most recent hitting stores on May 12, 2016.

Based on the novel and manga published by Futabasha (Old BoyCrayon Shin-chan), DOREIKU: The Animation explores the twisted dynamic of slave/master relationships in modern-day Tokyo through 23 storylines that intersect to create a complex web of deception and violence. Written and directed by Ryōichi Kuratani (Tsugumomno, Ai Tenchi Muyo!), DOREIKU: The Animation will leave the viewer questioning society’s morality and wondering how far they would go if they were given ultimate control..
