“Under the Dog Jumbled” Gets Theatrical Run in Japan


Remember that second Kickstarter campaign? Well, here’s the result.

Earlier today, an official website opened its doors to announce that Under the Dog Jumbled will receive a theatrical run. The site includes a trailer, a visual, a listing of what will be shown during the screening, as well as screening details were revealed. We break the details down below.

Trailer

The 100-second promo introduces the major plot beats for the OVA, with footage from the title playing over theme song Shōjo-tachi no Melody (Our Melody, lit. Girls’ Melody).

Visual

The image features Anthea and Hana posing in the rubble of the school where the title is set, guns at the ready.

Schedule

The film will be shown from June 23 – July 6 at the following theaters:

  • Shinjuku Wald 9 (Tokyo)
  • Umeda Burg 7 (Osaka)
  • 109 Cinema Nagoya (Nagoya)

What’s Being Shown?

The following will be shown during the presentation:

  • Under the Dog Episode 0 OVA
  • Overture: a live-action short directed by Atsushi Isoyama
  • Our Melody Music Video
  • Anthea-chan Comedic Short

According to the Kickstarter page, the team will be working toward producing a full TV series for Under the Dog Jumbled following Jumbled‘s success.

Under the Dog was officially released on August 1, 2016. The title is an original anime feature, which first entered the anime world as a Kickstarter project. Backers raised a total of $878,028 to ensure that the feature would be produced. Masahiro Ando (Sword of the Stranger, Blast of Tempest) directed the feature at Kinema Citrus. Character designs were provided by Yuusuke Kozaki (Fire Emblem: Awakening), while Orange Co. (Ghost in the Shell: Arise) provided 3D CG animation.

The major voice cast includes:

  • Anthea Kallenberg: Asami Seto
  • Hana Togetsu: Rumi Ookubo
  • Shunichi Nanase: Kouki Uchiyama
  • Sayuri: Haruka Takahashi
  • Estella: Naomi Ōzora
