Fans of Hatsune Miku, get ready for cute overload!
The official key visual for this year’s Magical Mirai exhibition has been released and it’s adorable beyond words. Designed by Mika Pikazo, this year’s visual features our starring vocaloid holding a mighty impressive looking megaphone.
If you’ve never heard of Magical Mirai before, allow me to give you a crash course. First established in 2013, Magical Mirai is a festival that celebrates vocaloids with some of the biggest concerts of the year. It’s usually held at some point around Hatsune Miku’s birthday.
Here’s a very short promo clip for this year’s festival if you want to get a very vague glimpse into what this event is like.
After attracting 30,000 people in 2017, this event is going to attempt to top that by holding it in two cities, Tokyo and Osaka. The first event will be held on August 25th and 26th in Osaka with Tokyo following behind it (though they get an extra day as the Tokyo event lasts from August 31st to September 2nd).
If you find yourself in Japan around the above dates, there are certainly worse ways you could spend your time than in the company of vocaloid fans from around the globe.
