A psychic girl and a yakuza? Expect a lot of “owwies.”
Yesterday, Funimation unveiled their English dub cast for Hinamatsuri. The series will star the following:
- Hina: Brina Palencia
- Yoshifumi Nitta: Jarrod Greene
- Hitomi Mishima: Tabitha Ray
- Mao: Ariel Graham
- Baba Kashira: Tyler Walker
- Sabu: Kyle Phillips
- Oyaji: Bill Jenkins
Kyle Phillips is directing the adaptation, which features scripts by Aaron Dismuke. Jeremy Woods is working as lead ADR Engineer, while Andrew Tipps serves as Mixing Engineer.
Funimation started streaming a short dub teaser on their Twitter account, which you can check out below:

Hinamatsuri‘s SimulDub started streaming yesterday on FunimationNow.
The series is based on Masao Ohtake’s manga of the same name. Kei Oikawa (Outbreak Company, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!) was tapped to direct the series at studio feel., with Kanetoshi Kamimoto (Dagashi Kashi, So I Can’t Play H) providing character designs. Keiichirō Ōchi (La Corda d’Oro Blue Sky) is in charge of series composition for the project.
Funimation describes Hinamatsuri as:
Yakuza member Yoshifumi Nitta’s life takes a turn when an odd young girl falls onto his head. Following their strange first meeting, Nitta discovers that the girl possesses strong telekinetic abilities and, despite his protests, has no choice but to care for her. For better or for worse, they’ll try to keep their newly formed partnership from blowing up in their faces.
The Hinamatsuri manga launched in Enterbrain’s Fellows! magazine in 2009. After Fellows! ended publication, the title moved to successor publication Harta. To date, twelve collected volumes have been published, with the thirteenth book set to hit bookstores on Friday.
