Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle Gets New Key Visual


It looks like it’s time to meet the humans in this tale of giant monsters.

Earlier today, the official website for the Godzilla anime film trilogy updated with a new key visual for upcoming film Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle (Godzilla: Kessen Kidō Zōshoku Toshi – lit. Fixed Battle Mobile Promotion City). The image is a stitch of nine poster visuals, each of which feature a main character.

The film hits Japanese theaters on May 18. The feature will feature a showdown between MechaGodzilla and Godzilla Earth.

Kobun Shizuno (Knights of Sidonia) and Hiroyuki Seshita (Blame!) is directing the featuers at Polygon Pictures. Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass) is writing the screenplay and sharing series composition duties with Yūsuke Kozaki .

XAI will perform theme song The Sky Falls.

The Japanese voice cast includes:

  • Yuko Tani: Kana Hanazawa
  • Haruo Sakaki: Mamoru Miyano
  • Mulu-Elu Galu-gu: Junichi Suwabe
  • Metphies: Takahiro Sakurai
  • Martin Lazzari: Tomokazu Sugita
  • Adam Bindewald: Yuuki Kaji
  • Maina: Reina Ueda
  • Miana: Ari Ozawa

The first film in the franchise, titled Godzilla: Monster Planet, hit Japanese theaters on November 17, 2017. Netflix started streaming the feature on January 17.
