Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle Gets New Teaser Trailer


The King of the Monsters is ready for battle against his fiercest foe yet.

Earlier today, AbemaTV aired a new teaser trailer for Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle (Godzilla: Kessen Kidō Zōshoku Toshi – lit. Fixed Battle Mobile Promotion City). The 100-second promo introduces the major plot for the film, and offers a look at the title in action. The teaser ends with a new shot of Godzilla lunging in for an attack.

The film hits Japanese theaters on May 18. The feature will feature a showdown between MechaGodzilla and Godzilla Earth.

Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle Key VisualKobun Shizuno (Knights of Sidonia) and Hiroyuki Seshita (Blame!) is directing the featuers at Polygon Pictures. Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass) is writing the screenplay and sharing series composition duties with Yūsuke Kozaki .

XAI will perform theme song The Sky Falls.

The Japanese voice cast includes:

  • Mulu-Elu Galu-gu: Junichi Suwabe
  • Metphies: Takahiro Sakurai
  • Martin Lazzari: Tomokazu Sugita

  • Miana: Ari Ozawa

The first film in the franchise, titled Godzilla: Monster Planet, hit Japanese theaters on November 17, 2017. Netflix started streaming the feature on January 17.
