Well… I guess that’s alright, so long as the quality’s better than previous norms?

Earlier today, the official Märchen Mädchen anime website announced that the show’s 11th and 12th episodes will be released in December 2018. The format has yet to be announced for their release.

The episodes were originally slated to air this month, according to an advertisement for the show’s Blu-Ray releases. AT-X, Tokyo MX, and BS11 were all slated to air the finale.

On that note, the final four Blu-Ray volumes were also delayed due to animation quality fixes. The site singles out that episodes 6, 7, and 9 as needing numerous corrections.

The new release schedule is as follows:

  • Volume 3: 8/29/2018
  • Volume 4: 9/28/2019
  • Volume 5: 10/31/2018
  • Volume 6: 1/30/2019

Märchen Mädchen hit Japanese TV on January 11. The series saw episodes 9 and 10 delayed by two weeks, due to quality concerns.

Yuki Morikawa is providing character designs for the title, while late creator Tomohiro Matsu (Mayoi Neko Overrun!, Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin) is credited with series composition.

Cruncyroll is streaming the Märchen Mädchen anime on their digital platform. They describe the show as:

This is a story about girls (called “Maedchen”) who are selected by “Origin”. They attend school of witchcraft located all over the world to wield their magic and become first-rate “Origin Masters”. Their goal is to win at the annual Hexennacht competition, where representatives of each school compete in their abilities to wield their magic. The winner gets to have one wish magically granted. Due to lack of members, Japan might not be able to attend the annual competition this year. but things start to change when one day Shizuka Tsuchimikado, the leader of Japan meets Hazuki Kagimura.

Märchen Mädchen is based on a title that Matsu wrote over the course of three years before he passed away. The first novel, which is still attributed to him, hit stores on February 24.

Two other novels by Matsu, Mayoi Neko Overrun! and Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! both received anime adaptations. He also co-wrote the story concepts for Ixion Saga DT and handled series composition on Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin.

Sadly, Matsu passed away in spring 2016.
