L.B. Bryant: Hello!
Samantha Ferreira: Tonight we’re talking up Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online episode 10, “it’s OK if there’s no gore!”
L.B. Bryant: Wow this episode was twisted… and intense… and twisted.
Samantha Ferreira: Tell me about it!
Samantha Ferreira: I’m going to say it now – Yoko Hikasa is a treasure. A twisted, crazy, brilliant treasure that this world doesn’t deserve
L.B. Bryant: hehehe
L.B. Bryant: I don’t even know where to begin with this episode but I can say that it gave me everything that I wanted.
Samantha Ferreira: Likewise!
Samantha Ferreira: This was just fantastic through and through
Samantha Ferreira: Like… the intense action, to Operation Sweets, to our favorite lunatic wearing a nerve gear, to FRICKIN LIGHT SABERS
Samantha Ferreira: Just… oh my god, SAO. Oh my god.
L.B. Bryant: Absolutely. I think my first big point was when Pito started getting geared up. She was not messing around!
Samantha Ferreira: Oh, yeah… At that point, it was like “yep, this is going to be nuts.”
Samantha Ferreira: And those high school girls! Holy crap those high school girls. Busting out an anti-tank rifle to finally kill that OP shield
L.B. Bryant: That was amazing :)
Samantha Ferreira: It really was. LLENN owes those girls a ton of treats
L.B. Bryant: Absolutely. They earned their reward from Operation Sweets lol
Samantha Ferreira: lol especially the one who ate a bullet to serve as a tank gun platform
Samantha Ferreira: That was cray
L.B. Bryant: Genius move though
Samantha Ferreira: It really was. They used the same rules of the game that LLENN did early on, using the body as a shield
Samantha Ferreira: that poor hunter girl, though.
Samantha Ferreira: First she has her party just utterly obliterated by pito, then she gets vengeance… and her payoff? “GGO really IS fun ^w^ *shot to death*”
L.B. Bryant: lol Yeah totally
Samantha Ferreira: I felt bad for her… I felt worse for having a quick chuckle at that whole anticlimax. Like “I DID IT! I DID IT! ^-^ Wow… I really like -DEAD-”
Samantha Ferreira: All the while, Pito’s going frickin’ NUTS
L.B. Bryant: Pito was absolutely ballistic. I still can’t believe everything she did this episode.
Samantha Ferreira: I know… like… you knew she was gong to live because climax, but just watching her go off, staggering and laugh/crying as she rants with her eye blown out was both amazing and heartbreaking
L.B. Bryant: I actually thought for a second that she was going to die. I totally bought in.
Samantha Ferreira: Even as she knocked M down – that whole “Why are you trying to save me from this fun, horrifying, scary thing!” moment was… real feels there
L.B. Bryant: It really gripped me. That was just an insane moment.
Samantha Ferreira: That’s to say nothing of M, or the contract guys who just… went full-blown suicide warriors to save M and Pito from the oncoming onslaught
L.B. Bryant: I still want to know who those masked guys are
L.B. Bryant: Or were.
Samantha Ferreira: Same.
Samantha Ferreira: That last moment really humanized what had been faceless soldiers before
L.B. Bryant: Indeed. It’s obvious that they have some kind of real world attachment to her.
Samantha Ferreira: Indeed.
Samantha Ferreira: Especially when they all kind of realized that she was wearing a Nerve Gear
L.B. Bryant: Yeah, true.
Samantha Ferreira: speaking of… wouldn’t that mean that Elsa dies regardless of who kills her?
L.B. Bryant: Unless they have some kind of back up plan in place.
Samantha Ferreira: mm, true
Samantha Ferreira: I will say… no matter what happens, we’ll have a fantastic finale if they stick the landing
L.B. Bryant: I’m really optimistic about the ending.
Samantha Ferreira: Same.
Samantha Ferreira: Again – if this is priced fairly, this could be the first Aniplex show I buy outright
Samantha Ferreira: I really enjoyed it
Samantha Ferreira: Enough to “watch it 26 times” as Henry Goto famously said
L.B. Bryant: hehe
Samantha Ferreira: At worst, I want to screencap the heck out of this show. You know, when getting stills for these meetings, I always end up with north of a hundred caps
L.B. Bryant: lol awesome
Samantha Ferreira: LLENN, Fuka, Pito… they’re just such expressive characters – so many fun expressions. Then there’s new best girl gun-chan
Samantha Ferreira: But yeah.
Samantha Ferreira: I would buy this.
L.B. Bryant: I wonder if P-chan is going to talk to her again :)
Samantha Ferreira: God, I hope so. that would be hilarious
Samantha Ferreira: “Kill them allllll LLENN” “Eh?” “^-^” “AAAAH! D:”
Samantha Ferreira: Anyway… I’ve rambled a bit too much here. Any final thoughts tonight?
L.B. Bryant: Nopes I’m good. I’m just excited to see where this goes next.
Samantha Ferreira: Likewise! Here’s to a hopefully strong finale.
