I know everyone is excited for all the announcements that are coming out this weekend so consider this a nice little appetizer before this weekend’s main event.

Studio Ponoc has released a trailer for their upcoming anthology film Modest Heroes which will be released to Japanese theaters on August 24th.

The 90-second trailer reveals the ending theme for the movie titled “Sayonara Eiyuu” by singer Kaela Kimura. The movie is the first in a series of anime shorts which will be divided into different themes. The first movie is described as having the theme of “tales of modest heroes of our times.”

The movie will contain multiple stories including a 15 minute fantasy adventure story titled “Kanini and Kanino” directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi (whom you might remember from Mary and the Witch’s Flower), a 15 minute human drama titled “Life Ain’t Gonna Lose” directed by Yoshiyuki Momose, and a 14 minute action short titled Invisible directed by Akihiko Yamashita.
