Monster Strike The Movie: Sora no Kanata Gets New Trailer, Visual, Cast, & Crew Members


We’re going someplace far beyond the sky and past the limits of imagination! Or… we’re just talking about a licensed anime.

Earlier today, the official website for upcoming film Monster Strike The Movie: Sora no Kanata (Monster Strike The Movie: Beyond the Clouds) updated with a new trailer and key visual, as well as the major cast and crew members attached to the project.

We break the details down below.

Trailer

The 103-second teaser sets up the story, using character dialogue to drive the main story beats. The promo cuts between several scenes, offering a glimpse at the film in action.

Visual

The visual features the main characters standing in the ruins of a city. Behind them, stand the titular monsters, as well as a grey-haired man who has his back to the camera.

Staff

Hiroshi Nishikiori (Azumanga Daioh, A Certain Magical Index) was tapped to direct Monster Strike The Movie: Sora no Kanata at Orange, Yuichi Tanaka (A Certain Magical Index, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!) providing character designs. Takayo Ikami (Penguindrum, Beautiful Bones: Sakurako’s Investigation) is penning the feature’s screenplay.

Other confirmed crew members include:

The feature will star the following:

  • Kanata: Masataka Kubota
  • Tōya: Yoshimasa Hosoya
  • Yūna: Aoi Yūki
  • Senju: Kouichi Yamadera
  • Sora: Alice Hirose

Six other cast members were confirmed, though their specific roles have yet to be specified:

  • Atsushi Tamaru
  • Mika Doi
  • Nobunaga Shimazaki
  • Rica Matsumoto
  • Tomokazu Sugita
  • Yutaka Nakano

Alice Hirose’s role was previously announced. Her role as Sora will be her first voice acting role.

Monster Strike The Movie: Sora no Kanata hits Japanese theaters on October 5.
