Anime NYC 2018 to Host Anisong World Matsuri at Hammerstein Ballroom


Anisong World Matsuri LogoSeveral legends of anime music are making their way to the Big Apple.

Earlier today, Anime NYC announced that they will host the Anisong World Matsuri at this year’s convention. The shows will be held on November 16 and 17, at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

As of press time, seven artists are confirmed for the event (concert dates in parentheses):

  • Luna Haruna (11/16/2018)
  • TRUE (11/16/2018)
  • Konomi Suzuki (11/16/2018)
  • Morning Musume ’18 (11/17/2018)
  • Shoko Nakagawa (11/17/2018)
  • Hironobu Kageyama (11/17/2018)
  • Hiroshi Kitadani (11/17/2018)

Additional artists will be announced in the future. Anisong world Matsuri released headshots for each of the artists, which you can check out below:

The November 16 show will begin at 7:00PM, while the November 17 show kicks off at 5:00PM. Attendance will not require an Anime NYC badge, though tickets are required. Ticket sales will open in August, though specific dates have yet to be disclosed. Performers will host Q&A panels and autograph sessions at Anime NYC.

Anime NYC will be held from November 16 – 18 at New York’s Javits Center. This year’s event will welcome Mica Burton, Ray Chase, Robbie Daymond, Toru Furuya, Linda Le, Max Mittelman, and Becka Noel as guests.

This will be the second year of the convention’s operation. The first Anime NYC saw an estimated 20,000 paid attendees over the course of its November 17 – 19, 2017 run. Guests for last year’s convention included Danny Choo, Robbie Daymond, Yoko Ishida, Chris Sabat, and LeSean Thomas.
