Earlier today, the official Love Live! website updated with new details on the upcoming Love Live! Sunshine!! Over the Rainbow movie updated with a new key visual and information on the movie’s plot, as well as the core cast and crew members.

Plot
The series is set after the events of Love Live! Sunshine!!. Though plans to close the school are still progressing, the first and second year students are experiencing various challenges. The third-year students, meanwhile, have gone missing while on their graduation trips…

The core staff members are returning from the TV series. Kazuo Sakai (Mushi-Uta) is helming the project at Sunrise, with Jukki Hanada writing the screenplay. Yūhei Murota is returning as character designer.

Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow hits Japanese theaters on January 9. The film was officially unveiled on July 8, during the “Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours 3rd Love Live! Tour ~ Wonderful Stories ~” event.
Funimation currently holds the domestic rights to Love Live! Sunshine!! The company describes Love Live! Sunshine!! as:
