Godzilla & Ghidorah Square Off In Godzilla: The Planet Eater Trailer


In a battle between two titans of the kaiju world, who will come out victorious?

Earlier today, the official website for the Godzilla anime film trilogy updated with a teaser trailer for upcoming third film Godzilla: The Planet Eater (Godzilla: Hoshi wo Kū Mono). The 97-second promo features character dialogue to drive the major story beats, as clips from the film play. Theme song Live and Die by XAI kicks in as a background track at the 45-second mark.

Godzilla: The Planet Eater opens in Japanese theaters on November 9. Netflix will stream the film worldwide.

Godzilla The Planet Eater VisualKobun Shizuno (Knights of Sidonia) and Hiroyuki Seshita (Blame!) are directing the pictures at Polygon Pictures. Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass) is writing the screenplay and sharing series composition duties with Yūsuke Kozaki.

The first film in the franchise, titled Godzilla: Monster Planet, hit Japanese theaters on November 17, 2017. Netflix started streaming the feature on January 17.

The second film, Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle, hit Japanese theaters on May 18. Netflix launched the movie on their platform on July 18. They describe it as:

On Earth, Haruo and his companions make contact with the indigenous Houtua tribe. To defeat Godzilla, they set out for the old Mechagodzilla facility.
