UmaMusume Pretty Derby Gets “BNW no Chikai” OVA; First Visual & Trailer Revealed


…Before you ask, no, the horse girls aren’t advertising luxury cars now.

Earlier today, fans of UmaMusume Pretty Derby flocked to the “Umaja Pretty Derby 2nd Event Sound Fanfare!” concert event. During the show, i twas announced that upcoming OVA episode, titled BNW’s Vow (“BNW no Chikai”), will ship as part of the upcoming “UmaBako 4th Corner” Blu-Ray.

A trailer and visual for the project were revealed during the show, the details of which we break down below.

The 26-second teaser offers a brief tease of the events to come, with text hyping the episode interspersed.

Key Visual

The new visual is a colored sketch, which features Biwa Hayahide, Narita Taishin, and Winning Ticket.

The OVA will add the following:

  • Biwa Hayahide: Yui Kondo
  • Narita Taishin: Keiko Watanabe
  • Winning Ticket: Yui Watanabe

UmaBako 4th Corner” will hit stores on December 19. A preview screening for the OVA will be shown at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya.

UmaMusume Pretty Derby aired in the Spring 2018 broadcast season.

Kei Oikawa (Outbreak Company, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!) helmed the series at P.A. Works, with Yousuke Kabashima (D.Gray-man Hallow, Lord Marksman and Vanadis) filling the dual role of character designer and chief animation director. Masafumi “Pierre” Sugiura (Barakamon, Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru) and Akihiro Ishihara (Cygames) will work together to wrote the scripts and tackled series composition.

Crunchyroll streamed UmaMusume as part of their simulcast lineup. They describe the series as:

This is a tale of a world where “horse girls”; with glorious names and incredible running abilities live alongside humanity. Horse girl Special Week has moved from the country to the city to attend Tracen Academy. There, she and her classmates compete to win the Twinkle Series and earn the title of “The County’s #1 Horse Girl.”
