Sound! Euphonium: Chikai no Finale Gets 4 New Cast Members


Soon, it will be time to say farewell to Kitauji High.

Earlier today, the official Sound! Euphonium anime website updated with a new key visual, as well as four new cast members for upcoming film Gekijōban Hibike! Euphonium: Chikai no Finale (Sound! Euphonium The Movie: Finale of the Oath).

We break the details down below.

Key Visual

The visual features the major cast members, playing their instruments, arranged in a circle around a shot of the entire band in concert.

Cast

The film will add the following:

  • Kanade Hisaishi (Euphonium): Sora Amamiya
  • Motomu Tsukinaga (Double Bass): Shimba Tsuchiya
  • Satsuki Suzuki (Tuba): Misaki Kuno
  • Mirei Suzuki (Tuba): Ayaka Nanase

All four characters are first-year members.

Gekijōban Hibike! Euphonium: Chikai no Finale will hit Japanese theaters on April 19, 2019. The feature will focus on Kumiko and others, as they enter their second year of high school.

Jukki Hanada (Love Live! School idol project, A Place Further Than the Universe) is writing the film’s script, while Shoko Ikeda (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya franchise) returns to provide character designs. Akito Matsuda (D-Frag!, The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior) will score the feature’s soundtrack at Lantis.

Sound! Euphonium made its anime début in during the Spring 2015 broadcast season. The series was helmed by Tatsuya Ishihara (Clannad After Story, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions) at Kyoto Animation. Shoko Ikeda (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) provided character designs, while Jukki Hanada (Nichijou – My Ordinary Life, Love Live! School Idol Project) took charge of series composition.

Sound! Euphonium‘s second season aired in the Fall 2016 broadcast season.

PonyCan USA currently holds the rights to Sound! Euphonium in North America. The company released Sound! Euphonium on Blu-Ray across three four-episode volumes. In addition to the physical release, Crunchyroll is streaming the series in its entirety on their digital platform.
