Dōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue Gets New Trailer


On December 29, the official Dōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue (My Housemate is Sometimes on My Lap, Sometimes on My Head.) anime website updated with a new trailer. The minute-long promo focuses on lead characters Subaru and Haru, as theme song Unknown World by Schrödinger’s Cat ft. kotringo plays as a background track.

The series will hit Japanese TV on January 9, 2019. The full broadcast schedule is as follows (All times JST):

  • AT-X: 1/9/2019 at 23:30 (1/9/2019 at 11:30PM)
  • ABC: 1/9/2019 at 26:20 (1/10/2019 at 2:20AM)
  • Tokyo MX: 1/10/2019 at 24:00 (1/11/2019 at Midnight)
  • BS11: 1/10/2019 at 24:30 (1/11/2019 at 12:30AM)

Streaming services dTV and GYAO! will carry the title on January 10, at 25:00 (1/11/2019 at 1:00AM).

Kaoru Suzuki (DIVE!!, Hellsing eps. 2, 7, 12) was tapped to direct the project at Zero-G, with Masaru Kitao (Death Note, Dances with the Dragons) providing character designs. Deko Akao (Flying Witch, Anonymous Noise) is in charge of series composition.

  • Tora-neesan: Megumi Toyoguchi
  • Kuro: Daisuke Ono

Tsunami Minatsuki and illustrator Futatsuya Asu’s Dōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue launched in the pages of Holp Shuppan’s Comic Polaris in 2015. The series currently spans four compiled volumes, with the most recent hitting stores on March 13.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

Mystery writer Mikazuki Subaru, who isn’t good at dealing with people, finds them to be a disturbance when it comes to building his imaginary world. One day, he chances upon a stray cat and feels inspiration strike so he brings the cat home as his muse. Can watching the inexplicable behaviors of a cat form material for a novel?

Featuring perspectives from the human’s point of view as well as the cat’s.
