HIDIVE Adds BanG Dream! 2nd Season, 2 More to Winter 2019 Simulcasts


From December 31 through today, HIDIVE announced three titles that will join their Winter 2019 simulcast lineup. The platform will stream the following:

  • W’z
  • BanG Dream! 2nd Season
  • Real Girl Cour 2

W’z

W'z Anime Visual

W’z will start streaming on HIDIVE on January 6, at 17:30 UTC (12:30PM EST, 9:30AM PST) for subscribers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain, and Portugal.

The project is a co-production between GoHands and FrontierWorks, with GoHands listed as the original creators.

GOON TRAX will produce the title’s music, with DJ Rena handling video and musical production cooperation. W’z will also feature tracks from 27 artists:

Sentai Filmworks holds the rights to W’z, and describes the show as:

Inspired by house music from a young age, Yukiya spends his free time as a DJ for a crowd of one and uploads his videos online. Like any young teenager, he yearns for something greater than his current life. He wants recognition and importance, but breaking out of his comfort zone means he runs the risk of getting hurt, so the cycle continues. That is, until the day he crosses the line of no return and stumbles across a mysterious live broadcast that will change his world forever.

BanG Dream! 2nd Season

HIDIVE will start streaming BanG Dream! 2nd Season in North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, Netherlands, Aruba, Curacao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, Saba, Latin America, Turkey, South America, and Central America. The show will launch on January 3, at 14:00 UTC (9:00AM EST, 6:00AM PST).

Koudai Kakimoto (Cyborg 009 Call of Justice, Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko) will direct the project at SANZIGEN Animation Studio, with Kazuyuki Ueda (Hello! Kinmoza, Hinako Note) providing character designs. Yuniko Ayana (BanG Dream!, Hello! Kinmoza) is in charge of series composition for the project.

Sentai Filmworks currently holds the rights to BanG Dream! 2nd Season, and describes the title as:

BUSHIROAD’s smash-hit multimedia franchise returns for a second anime season! Kasumi and the rest of Poppin’Party may have achieved their goal, but it turns out they were just at the starting line. Performing is a lot of work, and, of course, they’re not the only band in town! Do they have what it takes to reach true musical stardom?

Real Girl

Real Girl will kick off on January 8, at 18:30 UTC (1:30PM EST, 10:30AM PST) for subscribers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal, Central America, South America, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic.

Takashi Naoya (Luck & Logic, Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru) will direct the season at Hoods Entertainment, with Satomi Kurita (Hina Logic – from Luck & Logic) providing character designs. Deko Akao (Noragami, Flying Witch) is in charge of series composition for the project.

Sentai Filmworks currently holds the rights to Real Girl Cour 2, and describes the title as:

Follow the popular Iroha Igarashi and reclusive Hikari Tsutsui, as they continue to navigate the tumultuous waters of young love and what it means to be true to yourself. As their relationship grows and deepens, new and difficult challenges threaten to break them apart. While they are committed to overcoming everything that comes their way as a couple, will somethings be too much for them to conquer?
