On February 12, the official Code Geass anime website updated with a new teaser trailer for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection. The 90-second promo offers a brief overview of the film’s events, as theme song Kono Sekai de by Unione plays in the background.
The film opened in Japanese theaters on February 9. Funimation will give the film a theatrical run in May 2019, with three dates planned:

Goro Taniguchi (Gun x Sword, Planetes) will direct the film at Sunrise, with Takahiro Kimura (Dirty Pair Flash, SD Gundam Force) providing character designs. Ichiro Okouchi (Azumanga Daioh, Guilty Crown) is writing the movie’s script.
Leo Ieiri will perform opening theme Kono Sekai de (In This World), while closing theme song Revive will be handled by Unione. Ali Project will peform an insert song, titled Utsukushiki Kemonotachi no Tame no (For the Beautiful Creatures).

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection was first announced in 2016, at the Code Geass 10th anniversary event in November 2016. The first details were revealed at the end of the third compilation film, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion: Glorification, which hit Japanese theaters on May 26.
The title will be set several years after Lelouch’s “Zero Requiem” plan. According to the staff, Lelouch will be returning from the original title, not as an alternate-dimension version or a clone (or some other plot contrivance).
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is an original series from Sunrise and manga supergroup CLAMP. The show originally began airing in the fall 2006 broadcast season, and spanned 26 episodes. Several spinoffs and OVAs, as well as sequel series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 have been produced since the show’s run.
Goro Taniguchi (Gun x Sword, Planetes) directed the series, while Takahiro Kimura (Dirty Pair Flash, SD Gundam Force) provided character designs. The team of Ichiro Okouchi (Azumanga Daioh, Guilty Crown) and Hiroyuki Yoshino (Accel World, Macross Frontier) took charge of series composition, with Yoshino serving as assistant to Okouchi.
A compilation trilogy was released, with the final feature hitting cinemas on May 26. The core cast and crew members returned to reprise their roles for the films.
