Samantha Ferreira: Hi everyone, and welcome to the Herald Anime Club! I’m Samantha, and I’m here with Anthony Simpson
Anthony Simpson: Evening
Samantha Ferreira: Tonight, we’re talking up The Promised Neverland episode 7: “God damn, I hate that creepy doll.”

Anthony Simpson: Where to being with the episode. So much was brought to light.
Samantha Ferreira: God yeah.
Like… this was revelation after revelation after twist
Anthony Simpson: So I guess lets starts with Sister Krone. We found out she was part of the system.
Samantha Ferreira: We also found out about the system
Anthony Simpson: The boys have it bad that they are just food for slaughter. We find out the girls the best ones of the bunch have a choice. Death or what you could consider life in prison.
Samantha Ferreira: Indeed.
Anthony Simpson: Of course they can’t go against the system or its death as a result.

Samantha Ferreira: And they ensure it with the chip implants
Anthony Simpson: Every angle is covered for all possible scenarios
Samantha Ferreira: Yeah.
We also learned that there are humans who live and work outside the walls
Anthony Simpson: I’m starting to wonder if Sister Krone is the way she is because of the system.
Samantha Ferreira: I wonder that, myself
Anthony Simpson: We also learned she wants to help the kids escape and blame is on Isabella so she can be the new Mama.
Samantha Ferreira: Yeah… that seems logical given the overt resentment they conveyed in their interactions
Anthony Simpson: Honestly given what she said about the system and what happens with the best girls I can see that driving some off the edge.

Samantha Ferreira: Indeed
Especially given she’s only 26
That woman has seen some stuff
Anthony Simpson: Given what she is part of it makes sense that someone would go off the deep end.
Samantha Ferreira: Definitely
They’re still genuinely terrible people, but I can definitely see where they’re coming from now.
Anthony Simpson: They are irredeemable people but it only makes sense that they would lose it give the circumstances.
Samantha Ferreira: Definitely
Anthony Simpson: Speaking of which I wanna bring up Isabella she is part of the system but she isn’t crazy like Sister Krone is. So I wonder has she been in the system a long time and just learned to accept it or is she good at hiding her craziness.
Samantha Ferreira: Indeed. Isabella is methodically evil.
Like… she’s genuinely chilling

Anthony Simpson: She is evil that is for sure.
Anybody in this system is evil.
Samantha Ferreira: Yes
but there’s evil, then there’s EVIL
She’s more “EVIL” than “evil” – like… her behavior is literally sociopathic now
Anthony Simpson: Yea.
Samantha Ferreira: When you have the show’s own characters thinking she’s gonna stab them?
That’s… that’s pretty incredible
Anthony Simpson: It is.

Samantha Ferreira: On that note: She made sure Krone was gone right quick
Anthony Simpson: So my question. How much can the kids trust Sister Krone.
That caught by surprise by the end of the episode. Like Isabella is 3 moves ahead of the group.
Samantha Ferreira: Definitely.
Speaking of, she had a suitcase
The same type that we saw Connie with in episode 1
Anthony Simpson: You are right. Now that Krone is going out the door I wonder if she is going to spill the beans in order to try and keep her job.
Samantha Ferreira: That would be amazing
I do wonder what was in that note now, though
Ray clearly planted it
but I wonder…

Anthony Simpson: Ray knows something that none of the other people know.
Its a smoking gun in the whole thing.
Samantha Ferreira: Definitely
And I think Ray’s been the real puppet master for a while now
On that note: I wonder how the camera plays into things
Anthony Simpson: Well something in the camera is needed for stopping the tracking devices
Samantha Ferreira: True.
I’m just wondering what, exactly at this point
There’s a lot to unpack at this point.
Anthony Simpson: Or is the camera some type of red herring.
Samantha Ferreira: It may be

Anthony Simpson: Used to throw those off from them trail.
Samantha Ferreira: Very true
It’s just intrigue on top of intrigue, at this point – I can’t wait to see what happens next
Anthony Simpson: Yea. Its like an onion you think you get to the center and there is more too it.
Samantha Ferreira: True that.
And so far, the filming has been great
Did you notice how they keep focusing on that one wall with the picture taken down?
Anthony Simpson: Oh god yes that is so so good.
I didn’t notice that.
I loved when they focused on Sister Krone when she was coming up the stairs.
Samantha Ferreira: That was great
The pacing and just the general cinematography, that way they worked the camera, was simply brilliant

Anthony Simpson: It is.
Samantha Ferreira: Hrm… any final thoughts for this week?
Anthony Simpson: I’m waiting to see what hits the fan next week.
Samantha Ferreira: Likewise.
So much is going to happen – you can just tell that we’re on the precipice of something massive
Anthony Simpson: Its the tip of the tip of the iceberg of what is going to happen.
Samantha Ferreira: It really is
Aniwho, I guess that wraps things up for this week. ’til next time, remember: If someone’s offering you dirt on an adversary, verify that you can trust them before you sign on.
Have a great night, everybody!
Anthony Simpson: Good night
