With the July 3, 2019 premiere date right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to take a look at a brand new promotional video for the weight lifting anime you never knew you wanted!
In the nearly two minutes long PV, the audience is treated to a very healthy story synopsis (even if you can’t understand Japanese, they do a great job of getting the basic idea across) along with tons of character art and cast introductions!
Mitsue Yamazaki (Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun, Tada Never Falls in Love) will direct the project at Doga Kobo, with Ai Kikuchi (New Game!, Engaged to the Unidentified) providing character designs. Fumihiko Shimo (Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu!, New Game!) is in charge of series composition.
The confirmed voice cast includes:

- Ayaka Uehara: Shizuka Ishigami
- Zina Void: Nao Tōyama

Yabako Sandrovich and illustrator MAAM launched Dumbbell Nan-Kilo Moteru? launched on Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday digital platform in 2016. The series currently spans six volumes, with the latest hitting stores on January 18. Seven Seas currently holds the domestic rights to the manga.
The official Dumbbell Nan-Kilo Moteru? anime website describes the show as:
“Hibiki… … … are, are you fat again?”
